im willing to invest $500, and i want to run a good buiseness that isnt totally dependent on the market,
i was doing birthday photagraphy but i didnt really care for going door to door

Keep doing the photography – but make up some really cool flyers and business cards on the computer. If you are good at it, then you’ll keep the business growing. And make a portfolio too…

Choose something you love to do. If you like photography but don’t like going door to door then change your strategy.

You found something you enjoy, are good at, and can make money off … and looking for something else? Why not “tweak” your photo business a little and let your references do some marketing for you? Why not put up flyers? Why not network with schools and PTAs and other people and groups that can refer you? You have an advantage over alot of people so use it. In addition to the photo business, pick complimentary things you can sell in addition to the services … photo albums? personalized calendars? coffee mugs with pics??? I think you’re already on to something. Check with the group Junior Achievements for even more marketing ideas and business startup advice. You have nothing to lose…
