Here are some places where you can find a mentor:

    – Government Mentoring Programs such as SBDCs, which works with community colleges and local business development councils to offer mentoring programs ; or the Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training
    – Volunteer programs such as SCORE which is composed of mostly retired executives and entrepreneurs
    – Professional organizations such as the National Women’s Business Council
    – Industry and trade associations
    – Local business groups, such as the chamber of commerce
    – Local chapters of business groups

There are also formal mentoring programs that charges a small fee such as Athena Foundation , Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program , or The Aspen Institute MicroMentor Program

Go to the Small Businessmans’s Association. You may be able to find a retired business person willing to help you with what you need to know. I find networking with other business people helpful. Sharing business knowledge with each other is common and network lunches are a great way to connect, let others know about your business and ask some of those questions you need help with. Contacting businesses that are similar to yours may also help. Beware that they may see you as a competitor and not want to help. Try businesses outside of your immediate area. Be specific as time is money! If you can’t figure it out, there are many business management courses at local colleges which are helpful but do cost. Good luck!

Join a network marketing business. They have a vested interest in your success. Most successful people will not just give it away.

Stay right where you are now.
Use the search feature and type in Forum or Message boards and the name of the industry you are starting.

    Example forums janitorial

These boards were started by industry mentors who take of their time to teach and guide new start ups
