So Warren Buffet is the second Richest he was an investor. Gates was a entrepreneur but in general who do you think makes more? Or does doing both make more? Or does it depend on the INDIVIDUAL?

    It certainly depends on the individual. An entrepreneur could own a beauty salon and make $20,000 a year… or an entrepreneur could be Bill Gates and make billions. An investor could invest in a coffee house and go bankrupt, or he could invest in Microsoft and make billions… etc.

    On average entrepreneurs probably do better than all investors in terms of income and net worth. However, very few entrepreneurs do as well as the best investors.

    Consider that most investors are salaried people with relatively small portfolios. They need to save before investing and these savings come from income. Business owners create wealth in their businesses through multiples of earnings. A business with net earnings of $100,000 might easily be worth a half-million (5 multiple) dollars. It is difficult for a salaried investor to save enough money and grow it through investments to $500,000.
